This was pretty much the first picture I took on our very first full Skye day. We had just been driving the A 855 north but couldn’t resist taking in this beautiful vista over Uig Bay. We are just about opposite ‚The Cowshed‚ (on the hill, a little to the right), somewhere over the Falls of Rha, on a side road of the A 855, looking south. It’s a beloved spot that was visited not just by about 4 cars during the ten minutes we were there, but where you can park your caravan over night and wake up to this view in the morning (as did the nice couple and their kid, who were there, when we came by). You can see the ferry to Lochmaddy or Tarbert laying at the pier, preparing for the next journey to the Outer Hebrides. The heather was blooming beautifully and on days like this the colour really stood out already.
